The Samsung S730i is an i-mode phone that comes out at time when many carriers outside Japan are dropping support for i-mode devices. It's a lightweight slider phone, coming in at 83 grams. The main features are a 2 megapixel camera, 176x220 pixel display, microSD expandable memory and stereo Bluetooth. The SGH-S730i supports GPRS and EDGE data only, but then i-mode works quite well at slower data speeds. There's also a close relative called the SGH-S720i which has a paltry 128x160 pixel display and 1.2 megapixel camera which is probably best avoided. Overall, the Samsung S730i looks to be a decent enough low-cost i-mode handset if your mobile network is continuing to support such devices. |
